The Band




Drumming for over five decades, Tom has toured in the US, Europe, and the Middle East. Tom has been in opening bands for The Guess Who, Aerosmith, The Steve Miller Band, Kiss, ELO and other international groups. Tom has more recently played with members of Original Parliament, the B.B. King band, and Arrested Development. He is one of founders of our band and greatly enjoys playing and helping to manage the group.



Bass and Vocals

Eric, in his early forties and a South Carolina native, is Chi-Town Transit Authority's youngest member. Eric's expressive approach to the bass guitar lays the foundation for his clear, soaring vocals. Eric has been actively performing for over twenty-five years playing blues, rock, country, and bluegrass. He plays bass, guitar, mandolin, piano, drums, and ukulele. Eric enjoys hiking and camping in his spare time. In addition, he has his own business as a seasoned piano tuner.




Jim is a native of the SF Bay Area, and has a degree in trombone performance from Cal State University East Bay. Jim has traveled and performed throughout most of the US and overseas in places as far flung as Western Samoa and Rotterdam, Holland. Jim grew up listening to Chicago and other "horn bands" but has played just about every style of music you can think of. Jim believes in having fun, no matter what he's playing, and loves having fun playing the music of Chicago!



Guitar and Vocals

Growing up in a musical family (his dad played jazz saxophone) in Richmond, VA, Michael was destined to earn a living as a musician, singer/songwriter and guitarist. His first success was recording a song with his own band that was selected for an album compiled by a local rock station. That launched a decade of touring in Europe and the Southeast. After settling in Georgia, Michael joined a local band, playing private and corporate events. He’s a full time musician with a soulful voice and rocks Gibson and Fender guitars.




Chris started playing trumpet at age seven and after meeting Al Hirt at age twelve was hooked. He has played with numerous Atlanta and DC bands and on stages with BJ Thomas, The Spinners, Cab Calloway, Holiday on Ice, Duke Pearson, Ringling Brothers/Barnum & Bailey, Circus World, and numerous Broadway shows and touring companies. Chris was first call on lead trumpet under Columbia Artist’s Touring Division and served as professor of contracts, copyright, and artist management at The Art Institute of Atlanta while performing regularly in the Atlanta area




Thom is a woodwind player and percussionist who grew up listening to the music of Chicago. Thom has a music degree from Western Carolina University and has performed in 14 different far! He has opened for Jimmy Buffett, Lee Greenwood, Roseanne Cash, Mickey Gilley, Frankie Valley and The Four Seasons, The Kingston Trio and many others. He is also a composer and sound designer creating music and sound effects for stage plays and documentary films.



Keys and Vocals

Asher has performed live music professionally for over 20 years. He’s played alongside Barry Richman, Harvey Scales, Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame member “Shady Grady” Thomas and on stages across the southeast and in Atlanta. Asher earned a music scholarship to West Georgia State University and loves to play grand pianos at private parties and house concerts. While taking requests from all genres of music, Asher’s favorites include the Beatles and the Doors catalogue. Asher is currently working on his own compilation album.
